Welcome, my name is Marie, I live in Buckinghamshire, married with 2 grown up sons and an array or animals - thats my other passion
After a struggle with my health some years ago, it brought things to a head, I started to explore WHY I was starting to feel not quite myself, I was aware that heading towards menopause would have its own challenges, I soon realised my self care pencil needed sharpening.
Being raised on a farm in the west of Ireland, I had always leaned towards natural foods in my cooking, and would rather seek natural remedies for a cold rather than going down the antibiotic root. I'm not saying that there isn't a place for an antibiotic intervention when absolutely necessary but as the wise Barbara O Neill would say "Apply a bit of common sense "
My dad was an advocate for old ancient remedies that my grandmother would have in her arsenal of healing wisdom.
A "hot toddy" with cloves, lemon, honey and the comfort of a hot water bottle was the rescue remedy for a cold, sipping ginger tea would calm a sickly tummy. Growing up the land provided in abundance as we ate with the seasons from our home grown vegetable patch and our pasture raised animals.
As I began exploring my WHY, I gradually found that what I put on my fork could be more healing than what I found in a prescription bottle or in a processed packet on a supermarket shelf.
When eczema and asthma presented in my children I investigated the culprits and even the laundry products had to be pimped 'au natural'
More and more I would favour holistic practices - how a good night's sleep or a walk in nature would supercharge my mood so I would grab the kids and dogs and head to the woods for some
'Forest bathing' .
By making small changes such as making my own non toxic cleaning products and natural alternatives for skin care, I was so blown away by how much happier, and healthier I felt.
I also found support in meditation, mindfulness, yoga, aromatherapy.
The body sure begins to heal when you provide the right environment and so did mine.
My experiences led me to return to the classroom to further my knowledge and studied Mental health & Nutrition. NLP, CBT, Metabolic Mindset therapy, Functional nutrition and Aromatherapy. In addition exploring the science of the mind, I then trained as a ‘Rapid Transformational Therapy’ Certified Hypnotherapist and ‘Dietless life’ coach with founder Marisa Peer.
